As I scrolled through my camera roll’s collection of 2025’s memories, I was swept back into stories of abundance in all directions: joys and sorrows, anxieties and reliefs, death and life, celebrations and losses, and one other thing that really grabbed my attention: roughly 70 sunrise and sunset photos.
Though I have always loved the early morning hours, I must have been especially captivated by this routine wonder in the sky more than in previous years.
Looking at these photos in a collection together, I was reminded of words written by one of the Psalmists:
From the rising of the sun to its setting, let the name of the Lord be praised.
– Psalm 113:3
I love the way God has cast this rhythm into creation as a means of praise. It leaves me singing in my heart to a boisterous chorus: “Great is thy faithfulness! Morning by morning new mercies I see!”
No doubt, His rhythm will repeat in 2026 just as it did last year. And the year before.
Enjoy these selected 12 sunrise photos and a sunset photo to cap it off, taken on Christmas Eve.
